My dream room

I really love our new house. Not only is it more than double the size of our first home, it also has extra space in all the right places. In the new place my darling and I each have our own space that is just ours. He has an office and I have the most amazing sewing room ever. The best part is that all of the furniture is stuff that we already had.

 I especially love my new sewing desk. The top is a door from our last house that I re-covered with some Dwell outdoor fabric. It is super long and already had a perfect spot for my machine cords. I have a small ironing board that fits right on top of an ikea storage unit. Both of my machines fit in the cabinet on the right side of the desk, but the greatest part about having my own room is that I don't have to put them away all the time!

   My cutting area is made from two ikea kitchen units placed back to back. The great one with all the drawers is one my mom wasn't really using anymore and the other was an extra from my husband's work. They make a perfect cutting surface, no more aching back for me!
   There are still some finishing touches to be made. Curtains to hang and organizing to do. I know someday it will probably be overun with teenagers and video games, but that'd quite a ways away so I'm going to enjoy it until then.
