home, sweet home
I'm so glad to be back home! We had a great time in Chicago. The wedding was lovely and I am so excited to have such a wonderful new sister-in-law. Sophie was a excellent flower-girl and she danced the entire night at the reception.
I had so much fun with my in-laws, it really made me wish that we lived closer together. My little ones had a great time playing with their cousins.
The wedding took up most of our visit, but we were able to go to downtown Chicago on Sunday. We went to Navy Pier and walked the Magnificent Mile. I even got to visit a cute sewing store called, The Needle Shop. I picked-up an Oliver + S pattern and some great fabric!
I bought a super soft gray striped cotton velveteen for the two-in-one jacket sew-along, I think it will be perfect for George. I also found some pretty Anna Maria Horner velveteen on sale. The main reason for the trip to The Needle Shop was to see the Outside Oslo fabric in person. I really love the how about orange blog and have seen such cute things made with her fabric. I ended up buying two prints that think will be perfect for my living room.
Okay, so remember earlier when I casually said that I just happen to visit The Needle Shop. Well, truth be told visiting that store was #1 on my list of things I wanted to do on this trip. I know, I know... here I am in Chicago, one of the greatest cities in the nation and what I really want to do is look at fabric?! My sweet husband drove out of our way and circled the block several times to find parking, just so I could make a quick dash in before they closed. So my question is... are there any sewing/fabric shops that you would love to visit, or have made point of visiting on a vacation?
