I hope everyone had great Mother's Day! This month is full of so much great sewing fun! Project Run and Play is nearing it's exciting conclusion, I'm so excited for my blog buddy Jessica of a little gray for all of her success! Vintage May by Craftiness is not Optional and skirt_as_top is in full swing and has been so inspiring. There is also a wonderful series on customizing Oliver + S patterns on the company's blog. And the cherry on top of the month is that May 21st is Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day!
This outfit is really a combination of the Vintage May and Oliver + S series that I am having so much fun following! I am so excited about the fabric I used for this outfit. The top is made from some vintage swiss dot fabric that my mom picked up for me at a yard sale 2 years ago. The fabric was in a bundle and was obviously the scraps left over from someone else's sewing project many years ago. It's fun to think that a mom decades ago was probably making an outfit for her daughter with the same fabric I am using for my sweet girl now.
The lace around the neck was a scrap that I found in with my Oma's things. I only had a few inches of it so this top was perfect for it. The shorts are made from some denim chambray I bought at the big yard sale a few weeks ago. Part of my $2 bag of fabric.
Tomorrow my sweet little girl will be 4 years old! She is such a silly, beautiful, amazing part of my life. I am so lucky to her mom!

Cute, cute! The eyelet is perfect, too.. not so much to be fussy, but still a nice, girly touch. Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, so much sweetness going on in that outfit! The vintage swiss dot looks wonderful made up into a Popover top and I love the way the shorts look in a chambray. I hope your Sophie has a wonderful birthday tomorrow!:)
